Editorial policy
People rely on HamTestHub to prepare for an FCC exam, so accuracy comes first. These are the rules we follow.
Official sources only
Questions, answer choices, correct answers and diagrams come directly from the current NCVEC question pools, including all published errata. Questions NCVEC withdraws are removed. Rules content is checked against 47 CFR Part 97 on the official eCFR site. See our full source list.
How explanations are written
- Every explanation must agree with the official correct answer.
- Rules explanations cite the Part 97 section listed in the pool.
- Math explanations show the full calculation.
- We do not invent facts, statistics or pass rates. If something cannot be verified from an official source, we leave it out.
Keeping pools current
Pools are replaced on a fixed four-year cycle, with new pools taking effect on July 1. We show the valid dates on every test page, update pages when errata are published, and remove expired pools. Current pools: Technician 2026-2030, General 2023-2027, Amateur Extra 2024-2028. The next scheduled change is the new General pool, effective July 1, 2027.
